It all about Jesus! Our desire is to reach people who are far from God. We desire see our city, state and world reached with the Life-Saving Story of Jesus, the Son of God, who lives, forgives, and saves.
We're a church where people are appreciated, valued, and loved. A church like one giant family where everyone feels at home. A place where everyone is loved, valued, and appreciated. This is who we aspire to be.
God's Word
We believe that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth.
Worship is centered around God's Word, and by this we mean the Word Incarnate, Jesus Christ. We worship God the Father in relationship with Jesus, God's only Son, the One by whom we have access to God. Jesus is the embodiment of God’s Word, the Scripture. Each time we gather for worship and study the Bible is explained in ways that all people can understand it, so that it is open and accessible for all.

Common Questions
People come wearing what they are comfortable with, casual clothes, work clothes, and business attire. at our worship services, events and activities. Church is not about what you look like or what you wear. What's most important is time with God, and people.
We will not put you on the spot, embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous”. Some want a more personal experience, and we can connect with you with a member to show you around and answer your questions.
Services are typically traditional, using a Divine Service from the Lutheran Book of Worship or the Lutheran Service Book, and vary according to different times of the year, such as Easter and Christmas. Songs are often traditional hymns with a pipe organ. Additional songs, modern and classical are sung by our Praise Choir on special days.
We know that it can be a little scary visiting any new organization or gathering. We will not hound you or pressure you like a personal shopper in a retail store. We will offer to assist you, and ask you how we may serve you.
On Sundays, children join their parents in worship. There is a special time early in the worship service for a children's message. then they are led by teachers and music staff to continue their morning in music class and activities, in other areas of the church, giving parents a break, and time to worship God.
Jesus created Holy Communion for God's family, commonly known as Christians. Every week Holy Communion is celebrated. We believe the bread and wine used in worship services are, in, with and under Christ's Body and Blood, which gives believers forgiveness of sins. Guests who have been baptized and confirmed are welcome to receive the Sacrament. The pastor encourages you to introduce yourself to him and tell him that you'd like to receive Holy Communion before the service. Our church is a member of the English District, in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
Gluten free free wine and wafers are always available.
We believe that giving thanks to God and making a difference are important, but we also believe that we are here to serve you. If it's your first visit, we don't want you to feel any obligation to give. You are our honored guest. God's forgiveness is His gift to you. Giving and serving are ways to thank God for blessing our lives and for making a difference in the lives of others. The offering plate is passed during services for regular attenders of GPLC.
